An introductory unit to the resources and skills of independent reading, translation and interpretation of Greek texts. The unit concentrates on reading 600-800 lines of Greek prose, with emphasis on grammatical and syntactical analysis and relating these to the skills of practical criticism. This unit also introduces students to the use of advanced dictionaries and commentaries in translating and interpreting texts.
