Credit points 10
Level of study M/7
Teaching block(s) Teaching Block 1 (weeks 1 - 12)
Unit director Dr. Taylor
Open unit status Not open
Pre-requisites

AENG34300 or comparable computational background

Co-requisites

None

School/department Department of Aerospace Engineering
Faculty Faculty of Engineering

Description including Unit Aims

The physical processes which lead to turbulent flows will be described. There follows a need to predict certain features of these flows so methods will be considered which can be applied to the physical concepts in order to develop models for turbulence. Emphasis will be shown on Reynolds' stresses. Computational work will be included.
