Description including Unit Aims

The aim of this module is to provide an explanation of the current state-of-the-art and future trends in key areas of helicopter design and technology for those involved in the European Helicopter industry that may wish to extend their basic understanding of helicopter principles. On completion of this module, delegates will be able to demonstrate the following: A greater in-depth understanding of the major elements of the helicopter; An ability to understand the major technologies involved in helicopter design; An understanding of the current level of technology in the major sub-systems of the helicopter; An appreciation of the likely future trends in helicopter design and technology; An ability to contribute effectively as a member of a project or technical team involved in the design, project management or evaluation of a specific helicopter project.
