Description including Unit Aims

This unit provides a broad introduction to the study of the ecology of the past human communities and the history of relationships between people and environments. The unit is not intended to train students to be specialists, but to raise awareness of the potential that integrated geoarchaeological and bioarchaeological studies offer archaeological research. Lectures and practical classes will introduce the basic principles of environmental archaeology and range of material that can be studied.
