This unit provides the opportunity for students to work in the fied and to use their practical skills which they have learnt from the course. It will involve a residential period, (such as Northern Scotland, East Mediterranean, Carribbean) away from Bristol for a period of three weeks in an area of archaeological interest. The students will be required to undertake their own research projects within this environment either individually or in small teams. The research will typically involve archaeological site survey, geophysical investigations, environmental sampling and the recovery of archaeological material. The students will then be required to write up their individual research at the end of the field school.
