Description including Unit Aims

Oral Surgery The Unit comprises two Elements which cover basic Minor Oral Surgery procedures, and subjects encompassed by the Specialty of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, and a further Element covering Sedation & Anaesthesia. The teaching or Oral Surgery is undertaken by staff in the Division of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) and is based primarily in the Oral Surgery Department on the Ground Floor of the Dental Hospital, but students will also attend daycase and in-patient surgery, the GA Suite and Consultation Clinics, along with undertaking a Residency Period at the Bristol Royal Infirmary. Taken as DENT30005 in year 3 and DENT40500 in year 4.
