Description including Unit Aims

This course will focus on three of the most important figures in the history of economic thinking - Adam Smith, David Ricardo and Karl Marx. We study their major economic works with reference to their views on value, distribution and accumulation. The main focus of the course is on understanding the primary texts themselves but we also look at the often very contested reception of these works.
