In this course students will learn what Action Research is and what it has in common with, and how it differs from, more conventional research. This will be developed through a consideration of AR's origins and of its development. Students will then explore the particular benefits of AR to education managers. The focus of the course then shifts to more practical matters as students learn how to plan, implement and evalute an Action Research project that they will implement in their own workplace addressing some issue in their professional practice. The first assignment is a plan of that Action Research project and the second is a report on it.
