Description including Unit Aims

The aim of the unit is to give a general picture of how Latin evolved and diversified into the different Romance languages of today. Aspects of both external and internal history are examined, the latter being dealt with in greater detail. Romance Linguistics builds upon the material presented in the various linguistic units offered in the first two sessions, amplifying it and setting it against a broader backcloth.
