This is the introductory unit for the Certificate in Medical Education Course. It gives a broad overview of the nature of teaching, along with a range of techniques for teaching in different educational settings, e.g. one-to-one, lecture, by the bedside. Students should develop the ability to choose appropriate teaching methods. They will also have the opportunity to receive feedback on their teaching skills, as well as to participate in the evaluation of others teaching. There will be considerable focus on developing the students as reflective practitioners.
