Description including Unit Aims

The Dynamics of Machines course presents the fundamental theory associated with the dynamics of simple machine elements. The course uses the modern motor car as a theme, with individual car components analysed in detail. For example: clutches, brakes, gears and gearboxes are considered along with more fundamental concepts such as friction. Practical laboratory work includes the dynamic balancing of a rotor.
