The Unit consists of 16 lectures that will cover a variety of topics within the general area of infection and immunity. The Unit will begin with a series of lectures that will introduce the general area of research and a variety of relevant experimental techniques. These will be followed by lectures describing the nature of the immune response, its role in controlling infectious disease especially at mucosal surfaces, and the mechanisms underlying autoimmune diseases.
