Description including Unit Aims

This unit provides an introduction to galaxies in their variety of forms and ages. The content of galaxies, their evolution, observed properties and distribution are also described. This course is normally a pre-requisite for the Level M PHYSM2200 Current topics in Astrophysics 422.
