Description including Unit Aims

This unit develops the understanding of the behaviour of semiconductor materials and provides an introduction to their applications in the construction of electronic and optoelctronic devices. The unit will include band profiles and junctions between semiconductors and metals and quantised electron transport in the two-dimensional electron gas.
