Description including Unit Aims

This unit will examine the application of biological and cognitive psychology and other neuroscience disciplines to the rehabilitation of people with brain damage of various causes. Neuropsychology experiments contribute to the formulation of information processing models and explain the breakdown in function, theories from cognitive psychology are important for informing new rehabilitation strategies, and imaging and neurophysiological measurements are important for understanding mechanisms of recovery and rehabilitation interventions. The unit will pull evidence from all these disciplines together to provide an understanding of the effects of brain damage and the development of neurorehabilitation.
