This unit focuses on the process of commissioning and managing research carried out by other organisations. Particular attention is paid to the engagement of stakeholders, to the setting of clear research objectives as the basis for effective project management and the use of tools, including project management software packages is introduced. Issues of costing, budget management and sub-contracting are also covered, along with questions of dissemination and intellectual property rights.
