This unit will cover the governance of the European Union in a examination of the role of EU institutions in the policy process; the relationship between EU institutions, member state governments, supranational agencies; the emergence of policy networks and other interest groups. It aims to provide students with a broad understanding of the policy making process of the EU and, more specifically, to comprehend the role of a variety of institutions at the supranational, national and subnational levels in the policy process.
