The unit comprises 1hr a week of English classes plus 2hrs of individual English language tutorials for each student on the course. The classes aim to develop General English language skills in an academic study context. The focus is primarily on Reading and Writing skills, but the unit also includes developmental work on Grammar, Vocabulary extension and extensive Listening. The individual tutorials are designed to develop the skills required to produce an extended piece of writing and an oral presentation within a specific academic subject area.
