This unit complements the introductory unit (MEDIM1101) that focussed on the teaching process. It gives a broad overview of how people learn and how we as teachers might utilise relevant learning theory to help promote effective learning in a range of situations, including both formal (lecture/tutorial) and informal (in the workplace). Students should become more aware of their learners preferred learning styles and develop appropriate strategies for responing to them. There will be considerable focus on further developing the students as reflective practitioners.
