Description including Unit Aims

This advanced unit examines pharmacology from a research viewpoint and uses state-of-the-art methods in practical classes. Lecture topics cover neuropharmacology including neurological disorders, molecular biology, intracellular messengers, electrophysiological analyses, vascular pharmacology, G-protein-coupled receptors, statistics and experimental design. Lectures on drug design from industrial speakers, followed by a six-week original research project under staff guidance conclude the unit.
