Description including Unit Aims

This unit is a practical course giving a brief overview of the key principles of counselling. It includes the qualities needed in a counsellor, client expectations, training in basic counselling skills, working safely with those who have been abused. It will help students understand the role of the counsellor and suggest strategies for self care.
