This module outlines the beliefs and practices of Islam, focussing on their understanding of God, the Qu&ran and its view of Jesus and of Christians, and the role and importance of Muhammad. The range of forms of Islam is outlined. This information provides the basis for discussion of Islam in the UK, its identity and influence more widely and especially in Europe, and the variety of theologies of Christian engagement. The principles of Christian-Muslim relations are explored, and the factors which hinder understanding and empathy between the two communities are identified.
