Description including Unit Aims

This unit builds on the Level C course which lays theological and practical foundations for Anglican ministry within the church of England. Having explored what it means to be an Anglican, how the Anglican Church is structured, and what it means to be a baptised member of the Church, this Level I unit: 1. provides a more substantial discussion of the range of Anglican ministries and relationships; 2. covers the important areas for an ordinand in the Church of England to understand and confidently engage with, including - the meaning of priesthood; the nature and practice of eucharistic worship; the ministry of women; ecumenical and other faiths relationships; the Anglican approach to reconciliation; 3. strengthens and informs the relationship of the ordinand's personal vocation to the wider life and mission of the historic Anglican church. 4. provides an ongoing context to reflect on the wider insights and challenges of the training course as a whole.
