Description including Unit Aims

This unit will consider selected debates in modern theology regarding the interpretation of the bible. The debates range around alternatives to the historical critical reading of the bible that dominated scholarly circles in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Key thinkers such as Stanley Hauerwas, Joseph Ratzinger, Hans Frei and Henri de Lubac will be studied.
