This unit offers a creative integration of the study of Anglicanism with current thinking in missiology to explore a distinctive and characteristically Anglican approach to the theory and practice of mission. From this study it can be discerned what Anglicans can contribute to global mission thinking today out of their historical and contextual Anglicanism. The course focuses on key figures in Anglican thinking and practice such as Roland Allen, Max Warren, John V Taylor and Rowan Williams, as well as the contributions of Anglicans from a range of world contexts to current mission issues. It explores the historical contributions of Anglican mission agencies and the structures of the Anglican Communion to the development of global Anglican mission.
