This unit provides a further introduction to British Sign Language. Students will learn basic sign language receptive and expressive skills. This course will introduce students to the importance of the use of linguistic aspects, fundamental to the grammatical structure of British Sign Language. Topics covered will include the use of space verb inflections, proforms, fingerspelling, negations, plurality and non-manual features, as well as the structure of language including the appropriate use of sign order.
