This is a compulsory unit for the DTC students to undertake as part of the 6-month PACT course. The unit (in conjunction with RBS 1&3) is designed to give students lab-based experience of 3-different areas of chemical research before they choose their PhD project and supervisors. The 3-sabbaticals (3 x 6 weeks) will be designed specifically around each student's particular background on admission to the centre, thus building maximum breadth into his or her formative DTC experience.
