This unit is a full-year course for complete beginners or those with a faded GCSE. In this unit students can expect to progress very quickly and to reach near A-level standard at the end of it. It covers basic grammar and vocabulary, and trains students in translation work into and out of German, and in spoken German. At the end of Teaching Block 2 there may also be some intensive days of language work. (six contact hours per week)
