The object of the unit is to provide the practical advice and skills essential for the design of students&� dissertations, for their subsequent research and the presentation of their findings. It deals with how to formulate a research question, where to locate documentary and non-documentary evidence, how to evaluate and use different types of evidence, how to organise research materials, and how to apply this knowledge to the chosen area of each student&�s dissertation.
