This Unit extends and refines aspects of language covered in Core Language 1. Continuing emphasis is placed on language idioms, socio-cultural issues, interaction and communication. The relation between form and meaning in language is studied further as is the connection of stress, rhythm and intonation with meaning in spoken English. The level of study progresses from an intermediate plateau to an early advanced stage of English use.
