Description including Unit Aims

A optional language unit for students taking a degree in Medicine. This unit is taken as a student selected component (SSC) in the second year and is available to students in Stream B. This unit is for complete beginners and focuses on general structures and functions of the langaue and includes practice in the four skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing), grammar, cultural and social aspects of the language, with particular emphasis on the skills necessary for studying in the academic environment of the target language.
