This unit is designed for second year law students preparing to spend their next year studying law in another European country. Elements include: functions and methods of comparative law; characteristics of different legal families; case law and statutory interpretation; introduction to the structure of public law; introduction to the structure of private law: the law of contract, the law of tort (or delict) and the law of unjust enrichment.
