Description including Unit Aims

This unit will provide a detailed analysis of the rules of evidence. In considering these rules we shall consider the balance between the interests of the state and the right of the individual to a fair trial. Areas covered will include; Introduction to general principles, Preparing for trial, Discretion to exclude evidence; Witnesses and oral testimony, Character evidence and the Human Rights Act, Hearsay and opinion evidence.
