To make further applications of non-relativistic quantum mechanics to a variety of real physical problems including scattering by potentials and the quantum behaviour of particles in electromagnetic fields. To introduce the basic ideas of relativistic wave mechanics and in particular, demonstrate the successes of the Dirac equation.
