Description including Unit Aims

The unit critically examines contemporary debates on human sexuality in the light of Christian theology and ethics offering a re-evaluation of traditional Christian stances.

On successful completion of the unit the student should:

  • be aware of the main strands of Christian thought on human sexuality in the context of contemporary debates
  • be aware of the consequent reappraisals of issues in contemporary theological ethics.
  • be able to offer their own analysis of issues, supporting their arguments with well-developed arguments
  • show a good knowledge of relevant literature.

Intended Learning Outcomes
