Students are required to complete 2450 hours of experience in approved veterinary practices (usually those recognised by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons as Training Practices). The requirement for this experience is twofold: 1. To enable the student to gain recognition for the professional qualification. 2. To ensure that the student gains the necessary vocational experience to become a competent practitioner. The Dean of Veterinary Nursing monitors quality assurance of this experience and the length of time spent in one or more veterinary practices is logged by the student and verified by the practice.
