This unit enables students to demonstrate their ability to complete a sustained piece of academic research on a topic of their choice, by applying the skills and knowledge gained during their degree. A written piece of work to a maximum of 12,000 words will enable students to carry out their research in an effective manner.
Aims:
Students will be able to apply the skills and knowledge that they have gained as part of their degree and complete a sustained piece of academic research on a topic of their choice, that relates to archaeology and/or anthropology.
Students will have gained experience in research on an original topic, following advice from their supervisors. The dissertation will be well illustrated and compiled to a high standard, that may in exceptional cases, be worthy of publication.
Supervision by a relevant advisor.
The dissertation is weighted 100% for 60 credits with a maximum word length of 12,000 words.
