This unit develops inorganic chemistry from the base of CHEM 20110 to provide the coverage suitable for an Honours chemistry graduate e.g. applications of spectroscopy, group theory and crystallography, structural chemistry of inorganic compounds and advanced aspects of the chemistry of transition metal and main group elements including organometallic compounds and homogeneous catalysis. The unit includes workshops and practical sessions to develop advanced techniques.
