This module will involve the student attending clinical practice attachments for no less than 20 sessions. Clinical practice attachments will be at the Bristol Royal Infirmary, Bristol Dental Hospital and approved mentoring private practice(s). The student should observe implant surgery and the stages involved in the construction and placement of provisional and definitive prostheses. It is expected that each student will prepare and treatment plan no less than 2 patients for implant treatment. The student will be expected to carry out the implant placement on at least one patient and where possible final restoration for that patient under the supervision of their mentor. Each patient will be treated within the mentor&�s practice. The mentor will assess the competency of the student against agreed criteria. The student must submit a portfolio of the clinical practice attachment and written clinical case reports.
