Description including Unit Aims

Unit aims:

  • To describe the common abnormalities in the fetal development of key body systems
  • To describe the management of pregnancies with fetal abnormalities
  • To describe and demonstrate monitoring and screening methods for fetal abnormalities.

Intended Learning Outcomes

At the end of this module the student will:

  • Understand what can be achieved in pregnancies with fetal developmental abnormalities
  • Be familiar with routine laboratory techniques used in fetal medicine applicable to reproduction and development.
