To revise and deepen knowledge of Czech/Catalan language acquired in 2nd year, to practise and develop students’ oral, aural, reading writing and translation skills; to give students further linguistic skills and cultural background.
Aims:
Students will have a high level of competence in their ability to produce accurate and fluent spoken and written Czech/Catalan in a variety of registers and will be capable of understanding reading and speaking Czech/Catalan at a more sophisticated level.
3 contact hours dedicated to the development of key skills. Mostly seminar based with some lectures for the delivery of grammar lessons. Ongoing e-learning tasks via Blackboard.
One of the following:
a) A written assignment of 3000 words and a two hour exam (50% each)
b) A written assignment of 3000 words (25%) and a three hour exam (75%)
c) One written assignment of 6000 words (or equivalent)
d) Two written assignments of 3000 words (50% each)
e) One oral presentation (25%) plus one written assignment of 1500 words (25%) plus one written assignment of 3000 words (50%)
Selection of dedicated material prepared in-house (SML).
Grammar texts and dictionaries as appropriate to language area.
