Description including Unit Aims

The first half of the unit aims to introduce students to the basics of Sanskrit grammar as a foundation for the reading of Sanskrit texts, and involves the completion of weekly Sanskrit/English and English/Sanskrit exercises and the preparation of short passages for reading. The second half of the unit aims to consolidate previous work on basic Sanskrit grammar by continuing with a certain amount of grammatical practice with increasing emphasis on reading (adapted) selections from Sanskrit literature.
