This unit focuses on the skills, issues and theoretical frameworks pertinent to teaching and supporting the learning of diverse groups of students in a higher education context. It examines these from both the tutor's and the students' points of view. It explores the rationale for adopting particular teaching approaches and develops participant awareness of important determinants of success, such as learner diversity, teaching and learning cultures, and personal skills.
