Description including Unit Aims

The aim of this unit is to provide a Masters-level understanding of the engineering applications of aerodynamics theory. Upon successful completion of the unit the student will:

  • have an appreciation of the wide-ranging applications of aerodynamic theory in engineering
  • understand the aerodynamic considerations underlying the design of modern civil and military aircraft wings, road vehicles and race cars, horizontal axis wind turbines and high performance sailing vessels.
