This unit will explain to students how to go about setting up a new business venture. It will examine the importance of high-tech entrepreneurship within an economy and will investigate the characteristics of the entrepreneur and entrepreneurial companies, with particular reference to high-tech companies. The different sources and types of funding will be discussed and at the end of the unit, students will be able to create a business plan and apply for funding to start up their own companies.
This unit is assessed via a Business Plan & Presentation aimed at a venture capitalist.
